About the Role:
Are you a Speech Pathologist with extensive clinical experience? We are flexible about fields within speech pathology but are looking particularly for experience with disability and/or adult populations.
Curtin University School of Allied Health invites applications for a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team as Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Teaching Academic or Teaching & Research) in Speech Pathology. This is a part-time (0.8 FTE, 4 days per week) fixed-term 5-year contract position, tailored for an individual who excels in their field.
The role involves coordinating units, developing materials, and designing curricula, as well as teaching and supervising students at various levels. The ideal candidate should have clinical experience, have engaged in impactful teaching/scholarship of learning and teaching, have research expertise (particularly for Level C), and experience building relationships with industry and the community. Desired capabilities include significant experience in a university setting, particularly in equity programs and supporting diverse students from various backgrounds and age groups.

Selection Criteria
What we are looking for:
- Education: A doctoral qualification in a relevant discipline (or equivalence and professional standing for a Teaching Academic role at Level B – please see below).
- Teaching Skills: Demonstrated high level teaching skill and a reflective approach to teaching delivery.
- Pedagogical Knowledge: An understanding of pedagogical theory and contemporary educational practice relevant to the discipline and a record of contribution to scholarship in teaching.
- Unit Coordination: Demonstrated experience or capacity to undertake a unit coordination role.
- Communication: Demonstrated high-level communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to the development of a collegial and supportive working environment and the ability to interact with students and staff with cross-cultural sensitivity.
- Policy Commitment: Demonstrated commitment to applying relevant and applicable policies, procedures and legislation in the day-to-day performance of the functions of this position.

If you would like to be considered for an ALC level, please ensure that you also add the following criteria in addition to the above:
- Research Record: An established record of research outputs in high quality refereed academic journals/outlets consistent with the discipline.
- Grant Applications: A history of competitive grant applications.
- Supervision: Demonstrated ability to supervise higher degree research students.
- Leadership: Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to lead major curriculum and/or research initiatives, and provide mentoring to less experienced staff.
- Reputation: Evidence of an established national reputation and growing international profile, and a record of obtaining research income, including nationally competitive research grants and/or fellowships.

- As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role
