Description
Communication and safe mealtimes are integral in evidence-based best practice Positive Behaviour Support. Our highly skilled multidisciplinary team is looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist with an interest in broadening the scope of their practice to include providing interdisciplinary Speech Pathology & Positive Behaviour Support to NDIS participants. We are committed to providing you with industry leading on-site training in Positive Behaviour Support. You will embed and integrate your Speech Pathology clinical skills to deliver evidence-based Speech Pathology and Positive Behaviour Support Services.
We are seeking a candidate based in locations around Melbourne including Prahran, Frankston, Dandenong, Caroline Springs, and surrounds. The successful candidate will focus on supporting our clients living in Metropolitan Melbourne.
We have the capacity to provide a full-time or part-time position for the right person who will benefit from our extensive experience in supporting our team to be thriving clinicians who love what they do.
We are also open to early career clinicians committed to developing their skills into Positive Behaviour Support through our graduate and professional development programs.

Requirements
- Managing a caseload and providing evidence-based therapeutic supports in a timely manner
- Delivering much needed speech pathology and positive behaviour support to clients within schools, homes, supported disability accommodation, and the broader community
- Interpreting findings to formulate treatment goals unique to each client
- Assessing clients’ communication and swallowing level of function and capacity using clinical observations and standardised assessments
- Recommending provision of Assistive Technology to assist clients with their functional limitations and to promote independence
- Support our clients (NDIS participants), along with their families and/or carers, to identify their needs through assessment and person-centred planning
- Identify meaningful goals and practical strategies utilising The Positive Behaviour Support Capability Framework, with a commitment to eliminate restrictive practices in the home and community
- Develop, deliver and evaluate evidence-based support plans within a complex support space
- Ensure individual plans reflect our clients' goals, passions and strengths
- Build the knowledge, capacity and strengths of those who support our clients - family, carers, friends, etc
