- Speech Pathologist | Assessment & Therapy | Casual
Description
Alloy Health is a psychology and speech pathology practice in Melbourne that works across disciplines. We assess and support children and adolescents with language, communication, learning, autism and ADHD. We are looking for an experienced Speech Pathologist to join us on a casual basis. Hours and days are arranged around your availability and client demand.
The role
This role combines assessment and therapy. You will:
- Complete paediatric speech pathology assessments across receptive and expressive language, speech, pragmatics and social communication, and functional communication
- Work alongside our psychologists on autism and developmental assessments, bringing speech pathology expertise to formulation, recommendations and reports
- Deliver evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming intervention tailored to each child and family
- Where clinically appropriate, keep working with a child you have assessed instead of handing the family on once the report is done
- Liaise with families, schools, paediatricians and other professionals
Why clinicians choose Alloy
- Paid report writing. Every assessment comes with paid time for scoring and reports, and the clinical work around each appointment is paid too.
- A second clinician reviews every assessment report before it goes to a family.
- You work closely with psychologists, adding to the same clinical picture rather than working separately.
- Admin support handles scheduling, invoicing and client enquiries, so you can focus on clinical work.
- Assessment templates, clinical resources and testing materials are provided.
- Structured onboarding, plus real influence over how speech pathology is practised here as we grow.
Support, and why we want someone experienced
You will have regular clinical consultation with our Principal Psychologist, case discussion with the psychologists, and a second review of your assessment reports. We do not have a senior Speech Pathologist yet, so this role does not come with supervision from within speech pathology. That is why we are looking for someone experienced who is confident making their own clinical decisions and knows when to ask for input.
Pay
$65 to $72 per hour including casual loading, plus superannuation, depending on experience. This is a casual role under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 (Health Professional classification). Your rate is set against your classification and experience.
How to apply
Apply through this listing with your resume. You can read more about working with us at alloyhealth.com.au/careers.
If you are neurodivergent, disabled or would benefit from an adjustment to the recruitment process, tell us what would help. Asking will not count against you.
